Capstone Projects

A capstone project gives students the opportunity to investigate a field of research or specific project, and demonstrate the learning outcomes, graduate attributes, and skills acquired over the course of your degree.  A capstone research project is independent work on a topic of your choice conducted under supervision. These projects are intended to be the final or penultimate piece of work completed as part of your degree. The Museum of Antiquities (UNEMA) currently offers four different capstone project opportunities: click each image below to learn more.

How To Apply

To enrol in a HASS Research Project on a UNEMA topic please complete the following steps:

Step One

Read the information provided here on the UNEMA website. If you need more information about these projects or the UNE Museum of Antiquities, contact Dr Bronwyn Hopwood: bhopwood@une.edu.au

Step Two

Decide which capstone experience you would like to undertake and contact any potential supervisors to see if they are willing and able to supervise you for a capstone project on your chosen topic.

Dr Bronwyn Hopwood supervises UNEMA capstone projects in all three trimesters (except when she is on leave). You should plan to contact any potential supervisor well in advance of when you would like to undertake the capstone project.

Step Three

Write a draft project proposal to be reviewed by your proposed Supervisor. Some examples are provided below where relevant.

Step Four

Once your supervisor has read and approved your draft proposal, submit it through the School of Humanities online portal for HASS Research Projects:

Step Five

You can get started on your project once you have received confirmation of your enrolment.
