Pick a Scan
UNEMA’s online database of 3D scans is called Pedestal3D. Artefacts in UNEMA’s collections are scanned using structured light scanning and photogrammetry to produce 3D images that can be manipulated and measured by the viewer. These scans allow students, researchers, and the interested public to virtually handle the objects in UNEMA’s collections, and to explore them in incredible 360 degree detail, from anywhere they have internet access. Pedestal3D is helping to make UNEMA’s collections free and accessible to all 24/7.
Scanning UNEMA’s collections is an incredibly time consuming and technology intensive exercise. You can help us keep this work progressing in one of two ways:

| Donate $20 | Your support enables a 3D scan of an artefact to be created for the UNEMA collection of your choice. Each supported scan will appear in UNEMA’s Pedestal3D accompanied by its object story, and public acknowledgement (if wanted) of your support. You will also receive a certificate with information about the 3D artefact scan that your donation has made possible. Nominate your preferred collection from the list of collections below: |

Below is the online form you can use to support UNEMA’s Pick-A-Scan Program. All donations of $2 or more are fully tax deductible. Donations are managed by the Office of Advancement and the funds held in trust by the UNE Foundation.
Please remember to specify the purpose of your donation in the comment box provided by adding a note identifying either the “UNEMA Pick-A-Scan Package 1 (name of your collection of choice)” or “UNEMA Pick-A-Scan Package 2”. Don’t forget to indicate if you would like public acknowledgement of your support or if you would prefer to remain anonymous.
