High Schools

Early Entry

UNE's Direct Early Entry program recognises that an ATAR score is not the only measure of future success at university. Through a combination of a student's Year 11 results and a recommendation from their school or education provider, Early Entry at UNE gives eligible Year 12 students the opportunity to secure a place at UNE before sitting their final exams, offering certainty and peace of mind during their senior years.

As part of the Early Entry program, we ask designated contacts at high schools to complete reviews and recommendations for their students' applications through our Early Entry School Dashboard. To request access to your school’s Dashboard, please contact the Early Entry Team at earlyentry@une.edu.au with the name of your school, your position, and best contact details.

Student Recruitment

The Schools Liaison Officers (SLO) are responsible for establishing and maintaining strong working relationships with secondary schools and TAFE colleges throughout New South Wales and Southern Queensland.

They provide a single point of contact for Career Advisers and Tertiary Preparation Course Coordinators regarding study options, student accommodation, entry methods, scholarships and student support services.

The SLOs regularly provide on-campus experiences for future students via Campus Tours and can tailor a visit to suit a particular school's requirements. They also attend careers markets and participate in school talks.

Our Schools Liaison Officers actively promote and support the Early Entry Program with schools, helping students understand eligibility and application pathways.

Activities include:

  • visiting schools
  • coordinating Open Day
  • creating generic recruitment brochures and marketing materials
  • providing UNE merchandise for give-aways
  • promoting UNE's scholarships and Early Entry Program
  • attending careers expos
  • arranging tours of campus for potential students and school groups
