The University's Code of Conduct for Research Rule outlines what is expected from everyone engaged in research at UNE with standards of responsible and ethical conduct. The AEC uses guidelines set out in the Australian Code for the Care and Use of Animals for Scientific Purposes.
All staff, students, and external researchers seeking to conduct research or teaching projects that involve the use of live vertebrate animals, and higher order invertebrates (cephalopod and decapod crustaceans), at the University of New England must apply to UNE's Animal Ethics Committee (AEC) for ethical review. Please review the AEC Operating Procedures for more information.
