New England and Regional Archives (UNERA)

The University of New England Regional Archives, located in the Heritage Centre, exists to collect from the New England region material which meets the acquisition criteria for its collection, to examine, appraise, organise, describe, maintain and preserve it, and as a research centre, to make it available to the University, local, regional, national and international communities.

The UNERA collections includes archival records from the University of New England and the New England University College, a collection of maps, and records from the Armidale Teachers' College and Armidale College of Advanced Education.

Library Special Collections

Dixson Library Special Collections bring together materials of special importance—including rare books, plays and manuscripts — that are rare and fragile and relate to the New England Region.

Musical Instrument Collection

UNE's Musical Instrument Collection of non-western instruments is the largest at a tertiary institution in Australia.

NCW Beadle Herbarium

The NCW Beadle Herbarium (NE) at UNE consists of more than 85,000 vascular plant specimens, housed in a purpose built facility. Herbarium NE is an internationally recognised herbarium. Herbarium NE is able to exchange specimens with, borrow from and lend to other recognised herbaria.

UNE Art Collection

Since the first donation was received in 1938, the UNE Art Collection has expanded to over 1000 works including paintings, drawings, watercolours and prints in all manner of genre and style.
