Meet the Team @ UNE Tamworth

Penny - Student Connect Officer

Penny provides students with information and advice for anything related to your enrolment with UNE, and can put you in contact with other UNE teams who specialise in certain areas of enrolment and your studies.

  • helping you enrol in your course and units
  • unit selection
  • withdrawing/changing units and courses
  • transferring courses
  • applying for advanced standing
  • getting started with your studies – the what, where, when, who & how
  • applying for a Study Access Plan, student ID card and academic transcripts
  • applying for extensions, special extensions of time, special consideration and special exams
Lynn - Tamworth Coordinator

Lynn can be found right at the front desk with Penny, making sure everything in the place runs smoothly. A woman in pink smilesShe can handle all kinds of queries from student support and room bookings to operational assistance. She helps to coordinate Tamworth student events and keep UNE Tamworth in tip top shape for Student use. If you have any feedback on the campus, any ideas for events, or questions around UNE Tamworth space, she will be happy to speak with you about them.

Lynn is also a student of UNE, so she is familiar with many of UNE's systems from a student perspective. She understands the difficulties of the student journey, especially those related to mature-aged study, online learning, and balancing work and study. She enjoys talking to students about their journeys, and doing what she can to help make that journey smooth and enjoyable. Come speak to Lynn anytime you need assistance, to report an issue with the Campus, or just to say hi!

Beth - Academic Skills Coordinator

Beth provides students with a face-to-face translation of the UNE Academic Skills Office resources. She has many years of experience in education and can help you develop and enhance your study skills to support your learning journey. All UNE Tamworth students can book in for a one-on-one, face-to-face tutoring session with Beth to get help with all manner of academic skills, such as:

  • writing assignments (essays, reviews or reports)
  • planning your studies
  • academic reading
  • referencing
  • note taking
  • paragraph and sentence structure
  • time management
  • exam day strategies
  • exam preparation.

Jake - Stakeholder Engagement Coordinator

Jake is a proud Gomeroi/Ngemba man with strong connections to the local Aboriginal community, which he uses to promote and create opportunities for Aboriginal Education through UNE. He is here to connect with your next step in life - to keep the mob moving forward. Come in and have a yarn to him anytime about how we can help you out.Jake, a proud Gomeroi/Ngemba man, graces the viewer with a grin.

Jake promotes UNE Tamworth through events in and around the local community. His relationship with local schools creates the perfect partnership for bringing UNE to the students, and vice versa.

Jake has also been instrumental in the creation of a study group for our local Indigenous UNE students, vocally advocating for the needs of our students to learn in a safe and comfortable environment that will be best suited to their learning.
