Supporting Documents

Some courses require you to provide documentary evidence, auditions or interviews to support your application. These requirements vary from course to course.

Where required, you will be asked to provide copies of certificates and transcripts or other relevant documentation, such as employers' Statement of Service, in order to establish your eligibility.

Once you have your completed supporting documentation, please return to your application to upload these documents.

For most degrees you will need to log in via Manage Your Application using your Application number and PIN. For Honours, Non-Award, Enabling, TRACKS or Cross Institutional applications you can long into Update your Application.

Requirements for specific courses

Cross-institutional study

You can study a unit offered at UNE to count towards your degree at another university using cross-institutional study. Most units offered at UNE are available to eligible students on a cross-institutional basis. Units undertaken on a cross-institutional basis must count towards the course you are enrolled in at your home university.

Find out about the Regional Universities Network (RUN), a network that formally offers cross-institutional units of study that contribute to a range of different degrees.

ALL cross-institutional applicants must attach a completed UNE Home Provider Endorsement Form to their application.

To ensure that your chosen cross-institutional units meet the UNE prerequisites, you must also attach a copy of an official transcript to show that you meet these prerequisites.

Diploma in Music Skills

Applicants to the Diploma in Music Skills are required to submit a Music Audition. To register for an audition, you must complete and submit the online  Application to Audition Form (this is separate to applying for admission to your course).   If you are unsure of the audition requirements, please visit our Music Audition page. Enquiries about the audition should be directed to music@une.edu.au.

Note:

  • you will be asked to upload your Music Audition Personal Statement to this Application to Audition form
  • you will be able to use the Application to Audition form to apply for a waiver of the audition and to upload supporting documents

Bachelor of Commerce

Applicants who are applying for this course under an admission rule that requires financial services sector work experience must provide a Statement of Service from your employer/s on company letterhead.This will be uploaded as a qualification document in your application or post application via ‘Manage my Application’.  Your Statement of Service will require the following information:

  • confirmation of your role and responsibilities
  • the tasks and duties in your role (eg financial planning, financial services)
  • length of employment, including start and end dates
  • the number of hours worked per week such as full-time or part-time (eg 20 hours per week)
  • referee must NOT be relatives, personal friends or people you supervise
  • if you are self-employed you must supply a copy of your business certificate of registration and a letter from your accountant or solicitor on their official letterhead stating: length of continuous engaged business and the nature of the business

Personal references that do not state these items cannot be assessed. Group Certificates, offers of employment, payslips, resume or CV will not be accepted.

Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood Teaching)

You are required to provide a Statement of Service from your early childhood employer/s on company letterhead. This will be uploaded as a qualification document in your application or post application via ‘Manage my Application’. Your Statement of Service will require the following information:

  • confirmation of your role and responsibilities
  • the tasks and duties in your role (eg room leader)
  • length of employment, including start and end dates
  • the number of hours worked per week such as full-time or part-time (eg 20 hours per week)
  • should only relate to the period AFTER the award of your Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care or equivalent
  • referee must NOT be relatives, personal friends or people you supervise
  • if you are self-employed you must supply a copy of your business certificate of registration and a letter from your accountant or solicitor on their official letterhead stating: length of continuous engaged business and the nature of the business (eg accredited family day care provider or before and after school carer)

Bachelor of Music

Applicants to the Bachelor of Music are required to submit a Music Audition. Bachelor of Organisational Leadership

You will be required to provide further documentation to support your application.

You will need to provide a current resume and a Statement of Service from your employer/s on company letterhead. This will be uploaded as a qualification document in your application or post application via ‘Manage my Application’. Your Statement of Service will require the following information:

  • confirmation of your role and responsibilities
  • the tasks and duties in your role (eg leadership duties)
  • length of employment, including start and end dates
  • the number of hours worked per week such as full-time or part-time (eg 20 hours per week)

All applicants must provide a thesis proposal form as part of the online admissions application process, EXCEPT for Psychology Honours applicants. The type of thesis proposal form will depend on the degree you are applying for:

The Personal Statement allows you to demonstrate non-academic capabilities required by the Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership (AITSL) and is essential for admission to the course.  Applicants who don’t complete their statement will experience delays in receiving an outcome for their application.

To complete the required Personal Statement, once you have submitted your application, you can click on the ‘Click here to provide your statements’ link and answer the four questions outlining your motivation and suitability for teaching. Alternatively, you can log in to ‘Manage your application’, and on the Home page click on the ‘Click here to provide your statements’ link to complete the personal statement.

The one attempt in answering the four questions is valid for all teaching preferences.

How to write a Personal Statement for teaching courses

To be considered for an offer you must answer all four questions. You may consider the prompts mentioned below each question to frame your response.

1) Tell us what has inspired you to become a teacher and tell us why you think teaching is a good career choice for you.

In your response, describe who and what has inspired you to become a teacher and describe the types of skills and abilities you will bring to teaching.

2) Describe one or two leadership, community and/or learning & development activities that you have engaged in.

In your response describe how these leadership, community and/or learning & development activities demonstrate your conscientiousness and coping strategies when you are faced with challenges.

3) Describe how you manage your time when you are both planning and coordinating activities in your personal schedule.

In your response provide examples of how you have put both your planning and coordinating skills to use.

4)  Tell us about one or two times where you have utilised your problem solving skills to achieve an outcome.

In your response explain what you learned, regardless of whether the outcome you achieved was positive or undesirable.
