Three Minute Thesis Competition
An 80,000 word PhD thesis would take 9 hours to present.
Your time limit... 3 minutes.
The Three Minute Thesis competition celebrates the exciting research conducted by Doctor of Philosophy students. Developed by The University of Queensland, 3MT cultivates students’ academic, presentation, and research communication skills.
The competition supports their capacity to effectively explain their research in three minutes, in a language appropriate to a non-specialist audience.

Research Development Training
Commencing HDR Candidates, you will be required to complete compulsory training modules as part of your degree. Information about the training modules can be found in the Research Development Training Guide.
Intersect Australia
Candidates and supervisors may also attend free training courses delivered by UNE’s training partner Intersect Australia. For more information about training, research support and Intersect services available at UNE, please view the Intersect Australia @ UNE webpage.
