German Placement Test

You do not need to take this placement test if you:

have no knowledge of German. (You should enrol in GRMN101.)
have completed HSC German Continuers or Extension HSC Level or equivalent in the last two years. (You should enrol in GRMN201.)
have completed GRMN102 or GRMN105 or all German units at the Beginner level (the 1st-year German units) in the last two years. (You should enrol in GRMN201.)
have completed GRMN 202 or all German units at the Intermediate level (the 2nd-year German units) in the last two years. (You should enrol in GRMN301.)
have completed GRMN101, GRMN201, GRMN301 or equivalent in the two years. (You should enrol in the next higher level unit, GRMN102, GRMN202 or GRMN302.)

You must complete the placement test if any of the above does not apply to you, and/or you already have some knowledge of the language.

This online placement test is designed to assess your current German language proficiency level so you will be placed in the most appropriate level.
