Chinese Placement Test

You do not need to take this placement test if you:

have no knowledge of CHINESE. (You should enrol in CHIN101.)
have completed achieved 75% or higher in HSC CHINESE Continuers or equivalent in the last two years. (You should enrol in CHIN201.)
have completed CHIN102 or all CHINESE units at the Beginner level in recent years. (You should enrol in CHIN201.)
have completed CHIN202 or all CHINESE units at the Intermediate level in recent years. (You should enrol in CHIN304.)
have completed CHIN101, CHIN201, CHIN304, or equivalent in recent years. (You should enrol in the next higher level unit, CHIN102, CHIN202 or CHIN305.)

You must complete the placement test if any of the above does not apply to you, and/or you already have some knowledge of the language.

This online placement test is designed to assess your current CHINESE language proficiency level so you will be placed in the most appropriate level.
