Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) is the minimum level of private health insurance required for international students (and any of their dependents) while studying in Australia.
It is a compulsory requirement for a Student Visa that a student maintains their OSHC for the duration of their studies.
It is essential that students purchase their OSHC when accepting their offer to study with the University, irrespective of any existing health insurance policies they may hold in their own country.
During International Orientation you will receive all of the information you need to begin studying as a student at UNE. You must attend all sessions of International Orientation to complete your enrolment. If you do not enrol in your selected units at orientation, you will not officially be registered as a student at UNE.
The main purpose of International Orientation is to introduce you to the key people and services at UNE and to provide you with the information you need to get started in your studies. This will also give you the opportunity to meet and make new friends.
You will be notified of your orientation date in your offer letter.
nternational or non-native English speakers applying for admission into their preferred course must provide evidence of meeting the English Language Requirements before commencing their studies. Compliance with this requirement is in accordance with the English Language Requirements for Admission Rule and the English Language Requirements Higher Than the University Minimum Requirement Annex policies. If you wish to commence a course with the University as an international student, or you wish to study individual units and your home institution is not a current exchange partner of the University, then you may apply to study as a fee-paying study abroad student.
To apply to study abroad, you will need to complete the International Online Application.
