UNE International Engagement
Collaboration is key to our external engagement activities, and UNE encourages its staff to identify and pursue opportunities that maximise our international engagement.
Currently, UNE has numerous active International Agreements and Memoranda of Understanding.
To achieve consistency in our approach to international partnership arrangements, UNE has several standardised templates available for use:
- Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) - a non-legally binding agreement between two or more parties with the intention for future development of a formal Collaboration Agreement within a 2-year timeframe.
- Student Exchange Agreement - for entering a formal arrangement with an overseas institution to engage in student exchange (i.e., students from UNE go to the overseas institution to study and vice versa).
- Primary Agent Agreement – for engaging an education agent to recruit international students. This is a commercial agreement and therefore it must be detailed enough to be ESOS compliant as well as serviceable to enforce corrective action etc.
- Confidentiality Agreement –also known as a non-disclosure agreement (NDA), is a legal contract between at least two parties that outlines confidential material, knowledge, or information that the parties wish to share with one another for certain purposes but wish to restrict access to or by third parties.
- Variation to an Agreement – for varying an existing Agreement.
- Collaboration Agreement with flexible schedules – for entering into a comprehensive legally binding partnership between two or more entities.
- Advanced Standing - for partners to set out what the advanced standing arrangements will be for students coming into a UNE degree from a partner education provider.
- Cotutelle Doctoral Program - a Cotutelle PhD program where a candidate is enrolled at one of two universities but spends time at both universities during their candidature under a formal program of joint supervision. Upon successful completion of the program, the candidate receives the award from the enrolling university only.
UNE Staff who wish to establish International partnership opportunities are required to follow the procedures. As part of these requirements, it is a requisite that you also complete the Foreign Interference Checklist (DOCX, 41.18 KB).
