Maximise your options to study at UNE

UNE offers many pathways and entry options to give you the best chance of getting into university.

In addition to having our own direct Early Entry program, UNE also participates in the Schools Recommendation Scheme (SRS) offered via the Universities Admissions Centre (UAC). Year 12 students can apply for SRS based on their year 11 results and the recommendation from their School.

You can maximise your options by applying for both direct Early Entry and SRS courses. You can apply for 3 courses through direct Early Entry and then also apply for another 5 different UNE courses through SRS.

How to Apply for SRS

It’s easy to apply for SRS through the UAC Website. Simply log into UAC or create an account and get your UAC application in before the SRS closing date to be considered for SRS. When applying to study make sure you also complete the SRS section.

UNE begins making SRS offers in the November Round 1 in UAC each year. To be considered in 2025 for study in 2026 then please ensure that you have:

  • Your SRS application in with UAC by the closing date on 5 September 2025; and
  • That the UNE course that you'd like an offer to is your highest eligible preference by the change of preference deadline for frist SRS offers on 6 November 2025

What happens after I've applied for SRS?

After receiving your SRS application, UNE will look at your performance in Year 11 and the ratings provided by your high school and consider all of those and any other information in your application against the entry criteria for the course/s you have applied for.

UNE sends an email to the SRS applicants who are considered to be eligible to use SRS for entry to UNE.  This email usually sends really close to the change of preference deadline for November Round 1 offers.  That email outlines which course/s each applicant could have an offer to if it is their highest eligible preference. This helps applicants to consider and change their preference before an upcoming UAC offer round if they wish to be made an offer for one of their SRS preferences. Applicants who are assessed but are not eligible for any courses will not receive an email.

UNE will make offers to successful SRS applicants in the UAC November Round 1 Offer Round and for most courses in several offer rounds after that until February Round 1.

Who can apply?

Year 12 students can apply through the Schools Recommendation Scheme based on your Year 11 results and recommendations from your school in addition to any equity criteria or unique information you supplied in your application.

Quotas

UNE may stop making offers to any course/s that have reached a quota/cap/limit.

The UNE Bachelor of Nursing is most commonly affected by a quota that the course's accrediting body has placed on the number of commencing students that can enrol in the course each year. This means that offers will stop being made by UNE once the student enrolment quota is reached.   For the Bachelor of Nursing the limit isn't related to an SRS entry pathway, the limit instead applies to the total number of students who enrol in the course (specifically in units of the course) irrespective of how they gained entry.
