Strictly Prisma: Strategies on managing your systematic review

A School of Education seminar presented on March 16th, 2016 by Leonie Sherwin and Tania Pearce

Systematic reviews are an important research design providing researchers and clinicians with a comprehensive source of reliable evidence of published studies. However, not all systematic reviews are created equal. Studies have shown that some systematic reviews remain poorly reported, leaving them susceptible to risk and bias. Producing a quality review requires a sound understanding of the essential skills in managing the review process and the standardised reporting requirements as set by such consortiums as PRISMA. Led by an experienced information manager who has undertaken a number of systematic reviews and a reference librarian, this workshop is suitable for both novice researchers new to the field of systematic reviews as well as more experienced researchers seeking to refresh their knowledge of the methodological practices involved in this type of research.
