Psychologist perspectives of rural practice

There are considerably less psychologists practicing in rural and remote areas of Australia compared to urban areas, despite similar mental health prevalence rates. This research aims to increase understanding of rural psychology practice, order to better meet the mental health needs of rural Australians. Specifically, the research aims to identify the challenges and experiences of rural psychology work in Australia, as well as explore the competencies needed for rural psychology practice.

To complete in this research, we are currently seeking rural psychologists to participate in an online interview via Zoom teleconferencing, regarding their opinions and perceptions of rural psychology practice. The interview should take approximately 1 hour of your time.

Participants must reside in Australia and be registered or provisionally registered as a psychologist with AHPRA, including those with endorsements. Participants working with rural or remote communities are invited to participate.

As a thank you for your participation, all participants will have the opportunity to enter a prize draw to win 1 of 5 $50 gift vouchers.
