Frederick G White Bursary
Background
Frederick G White was the nephew of the original owner of Booloominbah, Frederick R White. He was a grazier who owned substantial properties around Exeter in the southern highlands of NSW. Due to his familiarity with New England University College (NEUC) and his connections to the White family of Booloominbah, he chose to leave money to the College (now the University of New England).
Booloominbah, built in the 1880s, is the mansion on campus, now executive offices and restaurant, which was donated by TR Forster (son-in-law of FR White) to the University of Sydney to establish NEUC in 1936. Current UNE Chancellor, James Harris, is a direct descendent.
