Ben and Samantha first met at Duval College in 2016. Ben had previously been a resident of Drummond and Smith College but when Drummond was forced to close he switched to Duval. At Drummond, he had been the SFK representative, and it was through the friends he had made at SFK that he met Sam.

After some teasing about the atrocious beard shave for the 'Desperate and Dateless' event, many college dinners together, and movie nights spent in mutual friends’ rooms, they quickly became close.

Then came the fateful day.

After sleeping in and running late, Sam arrived at her 8:00am tutorial wearing her most unflattering baggy-jeans and the tie-dye shirt she had worn to bed the night before. Halfway through the tutorial, she received a message:

“Hey, if you’re up top, do you want to grab lunch at the cafe with me after class.”

After some deliberation over the fact that she was not dressed to impress, Sam said yes. Their lunch started at 11 am and Ben had class at 2 pm. There should be plenty of time, right?

Apparently not. The pair would have continued to talk and flirt if it had not been a message from Ben’s friend asking where he was, and why he was already an hour late for class. If you think that is cute, the next two dates were very similar. The Lan Ting Japanese restaurant was forced to stay open far too late because we wouldn't leave, and the classic Mung Hing Chinese restaurant faced the same dilemma a few nights later.

It was inevitable that they would be together.

After 3 great years of talking and keeping date spots open past their closing time, they finally made the leap and decided to get married. They have decided that, as the college is what originally brought them together, it would make their wedding day feel all the more special if it took place at the place where they met and spent the first year of their relationship.
