Brett Pomroy

  1. What was your UNE qualification/sBrett Pomroy?

    Bachelor of Laws.

  2. Online or on-campus study?

    Online.

  3. How did you find UNE lecturers?

Excellent. I had no real issues with being online. Exams were undertaken at a University in Victoria and an exam centre. Lecturers were all fantastic and were prompt at providing information. The only thing I could say, is that you do not have the student support as you would on campus.

  4. What was your reason for studying at UNE?

Obtaining a Law Degree and getting a job in the legal industry.

  5. Your current job

    Lawyer.

  6. How has your UNE qualification aided you in your career?

The qualification obtained at UNE was essential to becoming a Lawyer.

  7. What inspires you inside work and outside work?

Inside work, I am inspired by the challenges work in law provides, the people I work with and often oppose. Working in the law allows for you to meet interesting people; you would say every day you are learning from people and process.

Outside work my inspiration when I have down time is spent surfing and being outside as much as possible.

  8. Do you volunteer your time for a community project or organisation?

I am a member of Surfrider Australia.

  9. In this time of Covid-19, how has the virus impacted your work?

My workload, at this point, has increased. I was working from a home office before, so not too much change there. The type and volume of work increased when COVID hit and has not really reduced at this point.

  10. Anything else you would like to share?

I enjoyed my virtual time at UNE.  I look forward to touring the campus one day in person.  I have promoted, amongst my network the value of online learning, and I am interested in exploring other courses and education online in the future.
