Aboriginal Scholarship in Creative Arts Education

In memory of Dr Charles Perkins

Background

As a teacher, scholarship donor Machteld Hali holds the deep belief in the latent creativity in all people and works to facilitate its expression, using printmaking as her preferred medium.

Through running Printmaking workshops in Moree and selling the participants’ art both at the Bank Art Museum Moree (BAMM) and at her own gallery, Machteld has funded a scholarship for an Aboriginal student who is studying a Bachelor of Arts with an interest in creative arts or a Bachelor of Education with an interest in teaching creative arts at the primary or secondary level who will return to the Moree region to work following their study.
