CPR Refresher
This course meets the requirements of HLTAID009 - Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and is valid for 12 months.
Suitable for:
- This course is suitable for First Aiders who are required to renew their CPR annually.
- This course in mandatory for all UNE staff members who perform the role of First Aid Officer or First Aider.

Note: for CPR renewal only, please book in for the HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation. CPR courses are run together with the full first aid course, please allow up to 2 hours for the CPR renewal.

- Checking and Actioning Dangers
- Assessing Consciousness
- Clearing and Opening Airway
- Checking for Breathing
- Rescue Breathing Positioning
- Rescue Breathing on a Resuscitation Manikin
- Treating a Casualty Who Vomits or Regurgitates
- Locating the Compression Point for Chest Compressions
- CPR Technique
- Recovery Positioning
CPR Theory
- Shock, Choking and Bleeding
- CPR Techniques Including Infant and Child CPR
- Bystander Assistance and Obtaining Emergency Services
- AED Training (Defibrillation)
Pre-Requisites
You are required to hold a valid HLTAID011 to register for this training.
This is a blended learning course. Participants are expected to complete an online self-directed component prior to attending the session. This will take approximately 1 hour to complete. An email with the relevant link will be sent directly from the trainer to course participants two weeks prior to the session date.
Please note: You will not be allowed to attend the face to face training without completing the online component.
