Heat Management
With temperatures rising, please refer to the Heat Management Plan for guidance on recognising heat-related risks and applying controls to prevent heat-related illness.
Please note the responsibilities of supervisors and staff, students, contractor and affiliates responsibilities as outlined in the Heat Management Plan.
- The organisation is responsible for developing systems to manage and respond to heat-related issues, proactively recognising and addressing heat illness through self and peer monitoring, providing essential information, training, and supervision, and reporting all heat-related incidents within the digital safety management system.
- Senior Leaders are requested to ensure there is appropriate planning and preparation for the warmer weather and arrangements suited to the conditions and the work being undertaken is appropriately managed for the health and safety of all workers, students and others within their areas.
- All individuals must comply with heat risk controls and instructions, participate in management processes, take reasonable care for their own health, recognize heat stress signs, and report any heat-related impacts on wellbeing or safety to their manager or supervisor.

Heat Related Illness
If someone develops a heat related illness, please call 000 immediately and perform first aid until the ambulance arrives.
