Refund

Due to the negative impact that the Corona-virus has had on both students & staff, the cost of parking permits will be waived for the remainder of 2020. For those that purchased a parking permit this year via credit card & are seeking a refund please go to the Covid-19 - Permit Refund web page & complete the on-line form.

Those that purchased a red Parking Permit via Salary Sacrifice this year have had any deductions paid refunded back into their wage by Human Resource Services.

Deferral

For those that do not elect to apply for a refund the money you paid for this years permit will be transferred to next year & you will be issued with a 2021 parking permit (of the same type) free of change. Details about the distribution of parking permits to those who have deferred payment will be made available towards the end of the year.

Note: Those parking on campus in 2020 still need to display a valid parking permit and comply with UNE's Parking Policy and Procedures. As such, those who did not already have a valid parking permit before the declaration of "free parking" must obtain one through the UNE Parking Application portal. These will be free of charge for the remainder of 2020. However as all red permit bays have been allocated in  2020, only Blue Permits for parking in Blue bays are being issued.

Red Permits

Please note that red permit applications closed on Friday 7th February 2020. After this date any unissued Red Bays will be sold on a first come first served basis & allocated in accordance with the UNE Parking Policy & Parking Procedures.

Red bays will be first offered and allocated to staff that hold the position of Director / Head of School or above. Any Red bays that have not been allocated to Directors / Head of School or above will be allocated to eligible staff and/or students by Safety, Security & Information.

NB: where multiple applications for a single bay are received a ballot will be conducted to determine the successful applicant. All applicants will be advised of the outcome of their application within one (1) week of the closing date. Successful applicants will be provided with a reference number that will allow payment for the permit to be made on-line.

All decisions regarding the allocation of red parking bays will be final.

  • The University offers a Salary Sacrifice arrangement for Annual and Trimester Red Permits only. This arrangement allows for the full cost of the permit to be deducted from an individual's pay over five (5) pays as a pre-tax (salary sacrifice) deduction. Those people who are successful in obtaining a Red Permit will have the Salary Sacrifice form forwarded to them at the same time confirmation of their application is advised.

Red Parking Applications

Applications for Red bays are received by Safety, Security & Information for availability, allocation & approval. Once processed Safety, Security & Information will advise the outcome of your application. If approved payment can then be made on-line via Salary Sacrifice or Credit Card. Once payment has been received the permit will then be issued.

Any Red Bays unallocated after the closing date will be assigned on a first come first served basis.
