Subpoenas and Requests for Information

What should I do if I receive a subpoena or a request for information from a lawyer, insurer or other person?

It is important that you send the subpoena or request to UNE Legal Services immediately.  This is because often subpoenas are time sensitive.  We sometimes need to physically post documents to courts, so need as much time as possible to gather those documents and allow for postage time.

Should I respond to the subpoena or request for information?

No.  UNE Legal Services will respond to the subpoena or request for information on behalf of UNE.

Even if you have access to the documents that are requested, you should not respond.  Please provide the documents to UNE Legal Services.

What should I do if I receive a subpoena to appear in a court case?

It is important that you send the subpoena to UNE Legal Services immediately.  We can then give you advice on the requirements of the subpoena, and information about court processes.
