To accommodate periods of professional experience (‘prac’), which need to be arranged when schools and early childhood centres are not on holiday, the School of Education has a different timetable of teaching weeks from the rest of the university. The teaching timetable is structured around the dates set aside for on-campus students. Some online students arrange their pracs at different times. Weeks for teaching may vary depending on different units of study - check with your Unit Coordinator.

2025 - Important dates for School of Education students

| Weeks 10 – 18 Flexible window for Professional Experience placement | 28 April 2025 – 4 July 2025 |
- Students in most placement units may choose to undertake their placement from week 6 as per the PREXUS mylearn site published dates.
- Please note that Graduate Placement should check out the PREXUS mylearn site for specific dates as Graduate placements require 9 weeks of teaching and submission of Assignment 1 prior to undertaking placement.
- Students enrolled in the Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood Education and Care) degree should check out the PREXUS mylearn site for specific dates.
- If students undertake placement days beyond 25th May, they must apply for a SET for the placement component (and GTPA if relevant).
