The course aims to give graduates an appreciation of the value of life-long learning and a firm foundation for further study at a postgraduate level.

Masters of Nursing Practice (Pre-registration)

The Masters of Nursing Practice (Pre-registration) equips graduates with the key knowledge and skills necessary for the practice of nursing. Students who successfully complete 5 trimesters of full-time study (or part-time equivalent) exit with a Master of Nursing Practice (pre-registration) and are eligible to seek Registered Nurse status with the Australian Health Practitioner Registration Agency (AHPRA) as a professional nurse in Australia and by mutual recognition in New Zealand. Post Graduate Aged Care Nursing

Australia's aged population is growing rapidly. The proportion of people aged 65 and older is increasing significantly, driving unprecedented demand for skilled, compassionate aged care nursing. UNE's Graduate Certificate in Aged Care Nursing and Graduate Diploma in Aged Care Nursing are strategically designed to prepare experienced nurses for advanced practice in this critical sector. Graduates exit with a nationally recognised postgraduate qualification and are positioned for leadership roles across diverse aged care settings.
The courses aim to give graduates an appreciation of evidence-based, person-centred care in an ageing population and focus on preparing graduates for real-world aged care nursing through innovative virtual placement experiences in our simulated aged care facility. Students engage with diverse resident scenarios, experience the realities of aged care practice, and work with authentic documentation and care planning tools that they would encounter in clinical settings. This blended learning approach ensures students graduate confident, competent, and ready to lead quality care in aged care environments.
