Rod Gerber Memorial Award

Background

Professor Rod Gerber was the Dean of the Faculty of Education, Health and Professional Studies (1995-2002) and in the 2007 restructuring of the Faculties, it joined the Faculty of Economics, Business and Law to become the Faculty of the Professions. This scholarship is generously donated by his family.

Details

The award is valued at $1,000 and is available for one year to a domestic student undertaking a doctoral level degree in the area of Education at the University of New England.

Eligibility and Assessment Criteria

Preference will be given to a full-time domestic PhD candidate who holds a Research Training Program  (RTP) stipend scholarship.  A part-time candidate may be considered if no suitable full-time applicant emerges.

This award has been donated to bring recognition to high quality achievement by a student in a research degree.  This may be indicated by one or more of the following:

  • Referred publications
  • Conference presentations
  • Honours and awards
  • Supporting statement from the principal supervisor indicating the applicant’s relative level of progress

Applications for the Rod Gerber Memorial Award should be made through the HDR Award Application FormPlease attach the following documents to the application form:

  1. An abstract of your research
  2. A list of publications conference presentation, awards and honours and/or successes associated with your PhD research
  3. A supporting statement from your Principal Supervisor.

Only complete applications will be processed, so please ensure that you have submitted all required documentation with your application. The Higher Degree Research team will notify you via email when your application has been processed.
