Contractors & Visitors

In line with the NSW Governments temporarily imposed border restrictions with Victoria to contain the spread of COVID-19, the University is only accepting visitations from individuals travelling from Victoria who are authorised under the public health order to enter NSW and who have completed the mandatory 14 day isolation period accompanied by the written permission of the COVID-19 Return to Campus Plan Steering Committee. To apply for access please email All travel to Victoria for University related business has also been restricted in line with this regulation.

Students travelling from Victoria, who wish to reside in a University college must immediately go into isolation and undertake a COVID-19 PCR test on or after day 10 of isolation and obtain a negative COVID-19 swab result before being permitted to leave isolation after 14 days to enter the Campus unrestricted. Students will be supported by Residential services throughout their isolation.

The University acknowledges that contractors accessing campus contribute significantly to campus services. Due to this close working relationship with staff, and other University stakeholders, contractors are required to share the University’s commitment to ensuring the health and safety of staff, students and the wider community is protected at all times.

To facilitate this the University requires contractors that are attending campus to take the appropriate measures to safeguard their workforce through the provision of structures that ensure that contracted staff are aware of, and are abiding by, current regulations relating to COVID-19.

To support the important role contractors play in University’s COVIDSafe Plan, the University requires contractors and their staff to undertake the following before attending campus*:

  • Undertake an online contractor induction located here
  • Send to organisational specific COVID Safe planning documents

*Contractors will be required to undertake this once, unless requested by the University due to changes in restrictions. Each contractor attending campus is required to undertake these measures.

In line with the University’s requirements of on campus contractors, if you are inviting visitors to campus for University business, such as research or collaborative work and excluding events, then please ensure that all visitors complete an induction here and also obtain a visitors card from UNE Campus Safety Centre below the ‘Stro’ between 9:00am and 4:00pm Monday to Friday.

Please note that to obtain a University visitors card a visitor will need to:

  • Produce a form of picture ID;
  • Submit a new card form endorsed by the UNE staff member inviting the visitor to campus;
