Techniques in Environmental Science offers you a wide range of tailored practical experiences that deliver field- or lab-based methods training in modules specific to the fields of Environmental Science, Sustainability and Management that enhance your field and analytical skills, and contributes to your future employability.
The unit is modularised; a number of 'micro-credential' modules are on offer each year with each module equivalent to 2 credit points. Students enrolled in the unit choose three modules to build a six credit point program of study in the unit.

Some modules will have a mandatory face to face component therefore students should be mindful of this when choosing specific modules.
The School of Environmental and Rural Science considers all practical/laboratory/tutorial activities as essential to student learning. Attendance and participation in all practical/laboratory/tutorial classes (sessions) is mandatory - exemptions will not be granted without supporting evidence.

Learning outcomes
Upon completion of this unit, students will be able to:
- demonstrate advanced understanding and practical skills in a sub-branch of environmental science;
- demonstrate the ability to communicate science in written and oral forms; and
- demonstrate accountable for their own learning and scientific work by being independent and self-directed learners. Work effectively, responsibly and ethically in an individual or team context.
