Leadership skills are fundamental for success in today’s evolving industries.
This unit explores the definitions of leadership in the context of the 21st Century, and prepares you with the capabilities to prosper in this environment.
As part of your learning, you will reflect on your own experiences and biases and understand how these influence your personal leadership style, as well as how you respond to the leadership of others.
Through engaging with challenging situations and exploring different leadership strategies in response, you’ll develop a new perspective on how you can personally lead teams more effectively and acquire new tools and techniques to achieve this goal.

Learning outcomes
Upon completion of this unit, students will be able to:
- develop an appreciation for the importance of leadership and its associated challenges;
- critically evaluate key leadership themes and concepts and how they have been utilised by key industry leaders;
- reflexively engage with the concepts of self-leaderships and self-awareness; and
- demonstrate and ability to apply appropriate leadership approaches to contemporary organisations.
