Unit information
In an era of rapid globalisation, businesses must respond and adapt to changes if they wish to remain competitive. This unit will introduce you to the complexity of conducting international business in an increasingly integrated world.
You will analyse the fundamental drivers of globalisation including ideological and institutional change at both the international and domestic level.
To appreciate the major geo-political shifts that are occurring, you will critically evaluate the consequences of globalisation and examine the social conditions that contribute to it.
You will investigate the way in which tariff reductions, foreign investment, regional economic integration, privatisation and deregulation influence the modern interconnected world in which businesses operate.

Good Universities Guide 2024Studying online
At UNE we know it takes more than just being online to be a great online university. It takes time and experience. We pioneered distance education for working adults back in the 1950s, so we’ve been doing this longer than any other Australian university.
We understand the challenges faced by busy adults studying at home. We know that a vital part of online study is your engagement with the learning community. Communication with your classmates, teaching staff and university support staff will enhance your study experience and ensure that your skills extend beyond the subject matter. UNE’s teaching staff are experts in their field which is why UNE consistently receives five stars from students for teaching quality, support and overall experience.*
