UNE student studies on a laptop on her lounge at home

The Creative Arts plays an important role in primary school classrooms. In this unit you will be learning valuable practical skills and increasing your knowledge base in Visual Arts and Drama so that you enter your future Kindergarten to Year 6 classroom with confidence.

You will examine the place of the Creative Arts within the school and the wider community, and how the Creative Arts makes a positive contribution to the personal, social and intellectual lives of your future students.

In this unit you will learn to plan engaging lessons, how to integrate the Creative Arts in subjects across the curriculum and how to link them directly to curriculum outcomes. You will explore what it means to provide a safe and effective learning environment for your students and you will explore how students learn through the Creative Arts disciplines of Visual Arts and Drama.

Studying online

At UNE we know it takes more than just being online to be a great online university. It takes time and experience. We pioneered distance education for working adults back in the 1950s, so we’ve been doing this longer than any other Australian university.

We understand the challenges faced by busy adults studying at home. We know that a vital part of online study is your engagement with the learning community. Communication with your classmates, teaching staff and university support staff will enhance your study experience and ensure that your skills extend beyond the subject matter. UNE’s teaching staff are experts in their field which is why UNE consistently receives five stars from students for teaching quality, support and overall experience.*

I'm grateful to UNE for the opportunities studying has given me, but above all, for making me realise I could actually do it, and giving me a sense of accomplishment.
