Behind every successful business is a robust strategy.
This unit articulates the fundamentals of, and approaches to, the design and implementation of an effective business strategy.
You will critically analyse the fundamentals of strategy and the role it should play in business operations. You’ll evaluate various strategic frameworks and concepts for a range of organisational contexts, so you can foster successful business outcomes.
You will delve into the role strategy plays in developing a competitive advantage, which will help you to understand the ways it can drive growth and effective business performance.
To gain a comprehensive understanding of how and why to implement effective business strategy, you will also formulate your own methodologies for managing strategic change.

Learning outcomes
Upon completion of this unit, students will be able to:
- critically analyse strategic concepts and their role in business performance;
- evaluate strategic frameworks to inform business decision-making;
- appraise and recommend various strategies to achieve business goals and create competitive advantage;
- identify, evaluate and respond to risk on strategic projects; and
- hypothesise the variations of strategic change and apply relevant approaches to change management.
