Biography

Stoo Sepp is a Senior Lecturer in the STEM team in the School of Education at the University of New England, Armidale, Australia. He has over 25 years' experience working with educators on the use of learning technologies and effective teaching and learning strategies in the classroom and online.

Originally trained as a learning designer, Stoo is known for his expertise in designing and developing engaging and innovative learning experiences for both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.  This expertise has been acknowledged by UNE through the following awards:

  • 2021,2023: University of New England Unit Commendation for an outstanding result in overall student satisfaction.
  • 2022: University of New England School of Education Citation for Education Excellence

Stoo has previously served as a Director of Learning Design and Online Learning contexts, including polytechnic, university and indigenous educational settings.

Stoo has a diverse and interdisciplinary approach to research, weaving together educational psychology, learning and cognitive science, educational / learning technology, embodied learning, and novel methodologies. His current research focuses on embodied learning with multimedia learning materials, with a focus on learning strategies and material design. He collaborates frequently on projects both domestically and internationally, with colleagues in Europe and the Americas. Stoo currently supervises students across a variety of topics and is interested in hearing from students wishing to undertake a PhD, EdD, or Masters by Research.
