Opening the Farm Gateway

Opening the Farm Gateway provided information technology training and support for individuals and small groups of farmers and small business owners throughout north-west New South Wales. The was available to those who were experiencing difficulties establishing themselves online or were unable to access training and support because of their geographical isolation. The program operated through the offices of Rural Financial Counsellors in the region.

Under the Opening the Farm Gateway project, an IT support worker provided training and support on a one to one basis or in small groups in the home, office or in public venues depending upon local requirements. Support was ongoing via email, fax and telephone. Technological support for setting up hardware and the Internet on farms was also  available.
