Impacts of Water Trading in the Southern Murray-Darling Basin

Frontier Economics and their consortium aim to update the previous assessment of water impacts in the Southern Murray-Darling Basin conducted during 2009. This information will be provided to the National Water Commission who is funding the project. This assessment will provide additional data for the 2010-2011 year. In addition, the 2012 report will also provide an updated set of key policy questions through the use of improved methods and further investigations.

The Institute's role in the project is to provide the social impact assessment, including fieldwork, socio-economic data analysis, and input into the irrigator survey.
