Trial of a Process to Engage Woolgrowers Not Actively Involved in Environmental Issues

The Institute was engaged by the Land Water & Wool Program to trial and evaluate a process for engaging woolgrowers in areas with emerging natural resource management issues who may not have contact with the usual programs and organisations which are raising awareness of the issues. The trial was undertaken in the Lachlan CMA in NSW and the North Central CMA in Victoria and involved four facilitators not currently working in natural resource management but who had close contact with woolgrowers on production matters as professionals or local opinion leaders. The trial program was implemented by Mike Stephens and Associates, with the Institute carrying out the evaluation of the program.
