ID Cards
The Safety, Security & Information team issue all UNE ID cards. This includes:
Lost, Stolen or Damaged Cards
- Lost or Damaged Cards: Report to security@une.edu.au for cancellation. Pay a $10 replacement fee online. Once payment is received, Safety, Security & Information will reprint your card and notify you when it's ready for collection or has been mailed.
- Stolen Cards: Report to the Police Assistance Line (131 444) and provide the Police Report number to Safety Security & Information for a free replacement.

Your Student ID Card is your official proof of enrolment, displaying your photo and student number. You need it for: You can choose to have your card mailed or pick it up in person. Note: Allow up to 14 days for delivery. Transport for NSW have stated that a travel concession is only available to Australian students who meet both criteria below: Transport for NSW have stated that a travel concession is only available to international students who meet either criteria: Step 1. Australian Students must first attend the Safety, Security & Information office located in building C018 on campus to complete the Transport for NSW Tertiary Student Concession form & to verify their eligibility. International Students must first attend the Safety, Security & Information office located in building C018 on campus to obtain & complete the Tertiary Student Concession form. Once completed, they are to attend the UNE International office located in building E021 on campus to verify their eligibility. The authorised form then needs to be returned to the Safety & Security office in building C018. Step 2. Details of eligible students will be forwarded to Transport for NSW by Safety, Security & Information. Step 3. Allow 2-3 days for Transport for NSW to update their register of eligible students before applying directly to Transport for NSW for a Transport for NSW Tertiary Student Concession Card.Student ID Card

Applying for a Transport Concession Entitlement Card
All students are required to apply for a Student ID Card. New cards are issued once enrolment is complete/confirmed for the currently enrolled teaching period. All student cards remain valid for three years. After this time, if you are still enrolled in a course of study, you can renew your student card by requesting a renewal sticker. Please email idcard@une.edu.au with the following information: Important information about renewal stickers Renewal stickers expire after three years & expire in March in the year noted on your ID card/sticker. For example all renewal stickers applied for in 2025 will have an expiry date of 03/2028. Please wait until March, in the year your card expires, before emailing your request for a renewal sticker. This will allow Safety, Security & Information to confirm your expiry date & enrolment status for the upcoming year. It is recommended that all students attending Intensive Schools obtain a Student ID Card. Student ID Cards can be collected in person after completing the Student ID Card Application Form from the Safety, Security & Information Office located in building C018 (next to the Library) or mailed prior to the commencement of Intensive Schools. If you don't have a Student ID Card, access to UNE facilities may be restricted. This includes access to colleges, library services and computer labs & photocopying. Please note: If you ask to have your ID card posted out, applications must be received three weeks prior to commencement of Intensive Schools to ensure it arrives before you leave. Applications received during intensive schools may be subject to delay. If you require after hours access to a building via the Cardax swipe card system, please complete the Electronic Access Request Form and have your unit coordinator scan and email it to security@une.edu.au or place it in the internal mail addressed to Safety, Security & Information Office, Union Complex (C018) for action. Please allow 24 hours for your access to be placed on your card & note that requests are only processed during business hours. Please note: The office manager at each residential college will advise and authorise the ID Card office to place swipe card access on each student card for their residence. All new UNE staff will need to apply for a UNE Staff ID Card. To obtain a staff ID card: If you need building access via the Cardax swipe system: For permanent and fixed-term staff, the card’s expiry is ongoing. Casual staff ID cards have a fixed expiry date matching the expiry of your UNE employment contract. If this happens: If your employment status changes to permanent or fixed-term, inform Safety, Security & Information so your card and access can be updated. Important:Staff ID Cards

Failure to notify Safety, Security & Information of changes in your employment status may result in your card being disabled, temporarily affecting access to your work areas.
Contractors working at UNE sites will require a Contractor ID Card. To obtain a UNE Contractor ID Card: For contractors at the Parramatta, Taree, and Tamworth campuses, submit a passport-sized photo along with your application to your Project Manager, who will submit it to Safety, Security & Information on your behalf. If you need building access via the Cardax swipe system, complete the Electronic Access Request Form and have your Project Manager sign and email it to security@une.edu.au. Allow 24 hours for access to be activated. Requests are only processed during business hours. Contractor ID Cards expire 12 months from the induction completion date. After completing the induction, fill out the Contractor ID Card form and get it signed by your Project Manager. Submit the form to one of the following UNE Life Safety, Security & Information offices:
