Changes to Parking on the Armidale Campus

The University has taken this step to make our campus more accessible and welcoming to students, staff and the community.

The expected benefits from this change all relate to a better campus experience:

  • Encourage on campus attendance for classes, study sessions and campus services and to support participation in UNE clubs, events and extracurricular activities.
  • Encourage community members to attend on campus events
  • Reduce the financial burden on staff and students at a time of increasing cost of living.

Parking information:

UNE's campuses are open to public access and the Restricted Parking Areas are not intended to restrict access to the campus.

Alternative Transport

Students and staff are urged to consider alternatives, such as public transport and car pooling, and greater use of bicycles to take advantage of the cycleways servicing the University. It is in the interests of all members of the University community, and the development and maintenance of the bushland setting of the campus, to reduce the number of private vehicles traveling to the site, as well as assisting with the broader issues of air pollution, traffic congestion and the like.
