Immersive university experience awaits UNE Open Day visitors

Published 23 April 2024

This year’s program is bigger than ever, with schools and business units going all out to educate, inform and entertain visitors. It includes tours and activities, across both the academic and residential precincts, and will give school students a glimpse of university life.

Prospective students will have the opportunity to meet with future lecturers, chat with current students, and see how UNE’s 70-year history can help shape their future endeavours.

Campus tours will be running from 9:00 am-2 pm with shuttle buses between key locations running throughout the day. Morning tea and lunch are provided.

Executive Principal Brand Partnerships and Business Development, Anthony Smith, said that anyone considering study with UNE, whether on campus or online, is encouraged to attend.

“There’s nothing like experiencing something first-hand, and UNE’s Open Day is the perfect opportunity for people considering tertiary study to get an immersive university experience,” he said.

“Open Day is a great opportunity to see the campus, talk directly with academic staff about our diverse programs and courses, gain insider knowledge from current students, and generally learn about what UNE has to offer.

“Our unique residential system is synonymous with the UNE experience, and the colleges will be buzzing throughout the day, with activities including a barbecue breakfast, guided tours and giveaways.

“There will also be information on UNE’s Early Entry program for school leavers, scholarships and other supports for students as they commence university.

“We look forward to welcoming future students and their families to our Armidale campus next week.”
