Three Minute Thesis Faculty Heat - HASSE

The Three Minute Thesis competition celebrates the exciting research conducted by HDR students.

The Three Minute Thesis (3MT®) is an academic research communication competition developed by The University of Queensland (UQ), Australia. It tests research candidates capacity to effectively explain their research in three minutes, in a language appropriate to a non-specialist audience.

An 80,000 word thesis would take 9 hours to present, the time limit is 3 minutes.

This year the Three Minute Thesis Faculty Heats will be a hybrid event, held on campus and via zoom. Presentations will be presented live, either online or face to face.

Each Faculty will have their own competition, with the university final to take place on 24 July with the prize winners from each faculty advancing.

There will be cash prizes per faculty
1st prize: $500
2nd prize: $300
3rd prize: $200
