Research Teach Repeat: Neurosciences
Some of the major research projects within the Neuroscience group at UNE include understanding the neurological underpinnings of anxiety and depression with a view to developing more effective treatments, investigating sex differences in autism and how anxiety influences the social and sensory responses of children with autism, and the loss of sight that occurs with macular degeneration, studied at a cellular level. Although most of our research is done with humans, we also conduct preclinical studies using animal models to develop more effective drug therapies.
