Cluster Schools Initiative

The Cluster Schools Initiative is a partnership working with schools to increase placements and reduce administration for placements. It aims to build a social community of practice for teachers education students and create better links with schools for placement. As time progresses, the number of these clusters will increase.

Clusters have a different process when applying for placement. This information can be found on the Moodle PREXUS site and below.

The current clusters are:

Armidale Diocese Cluster Schools

The Office for Professional Learning (OPL) has entered into a partnership agreement with the Catholic Schools Office (CSO) in the Armidale Diocese. Teacher Education Students (TESs) who are interested in teaching in Catholic schools are invited to apply to one or more of the clusters listed below for professional experience placements. Scholarships and assistance with accommodation during placements may be available in some cases. Applicants need not be Catholic.

Allocation to individual schools will be administered by the CSO and it will not be possible to nominate specific schools within a cluster. It is expected that all placements to these schools will be arranged via the partnership.

The schools in the diocese will be organised into four primary school clusters and one secondary school cluster.

The commencement dates for placements in 2019 are; Term 2 April 29th (Week 1), Term 3 August 12th (Week 4) and Term 4 November 4th (Week 4).

If you wish to be placed in these schools in 2019 please complete the Armidale CSO Cluster Placement Form and submit it to the OPL via AskUNE.
