Unit information
This unit provides the opportunity to further your skills in Training and Development by means of exploring workplace innovations based on context.
You will examine generic principles and processes of training and development from the perspective of how innovations and change have impacted the workplace.
Additionally, you will explore the current state of knowledge about informal learning in the workplace, as well as strategies to best facilitate and synergise learning processes for greater team-oriented collaboration.

Learning outcomes
Upon completion of this unit, students will be able to:
- demonstrate coherent knowledge to identify and understand the general characteristics of adult learners;
- identify and demonstrate a broad knowledge of gender and cultural differences in learning;
- based on relevant theories and concepts apply an understanding about the characteristics of adult learners learning in the workplace;
- analyse the contribution of research studies of workplace learning to overall understanding of learning in the workplace; and
- design workplace support for enhancing workplace learning, applying skills that reflect real-life work practices.
