Gain an introduction to the advanced biostatistical skills required to analyse public health (One Health) data in this practical unit.
By learning the quantitative methods, software and statistical techniques relevant to evidence-based public health research and practice, you will develop an understanding of the application of biostatistics to a range of areas of public health and population health.

Learning outcomes
Upon completion of this unit, students will be able to:
- critically appraise the relationship between the key concepts in public health (One Health) and biostatistics;
- understand the key role that biostatistics plays in the design, delivery and evaluation of evidence-based public health research and practice;
- apply advanced statistical techniques to public health (One Health) data;
- critically evaluate, a wide range of statistical models and software used to analyse, interpret and report public health data; and
- analyse data and interpret results of statistical analyses in public health research and studies.
