As a Student Ambassador you will have an important role in providing advice and assistance to prospective high school students, through peer-to-peer presentations, and interactions in both online and face-to-face formats. You will support prospective undergraduate and on-campus students.
Student Ambassadors work with the Oorala Aboriginal Centre to promote recruitment, connect with current students and engagement activities. Activities will include school visits, campus experience days, orientation, graduation, UNE Open Day, career markets and local community events.
Student Ambassadors get paid to talk about their university experience, get the opportunity to travel around NSW and represent Oorala and have the opportunity to develop communication skills, increase confidence and get real world work experience while studying.

"Being a student ambassador is an incredible and fun opportunity where you get to know your fellow students and feel part of the greater community. Meeting new students and helping them adjust to life here at UNE is fulfilling and allows you to learn new skills for your own University journey in an exciting role!"

"Being a Student Ambassador is something I genuinely enjoy because I love helping students and showing First Nations students that there is a place for them at university — and especially here at UNE. I’ve loved talking with people from all different age groups, listening to their stories, and understanding the journey that brought them to UNE. Sharing my own experiences and offering little tips and tricks I’ve picked up along the way feels meaningful, because it can make starting uni feel less overwhelming. Working at graduation is a highlight too — seeing how much students have grown and how far they’ve come during their time at UNE is inspiring, and it reminds me why this work matters.”
