Research Excellence

UNE's reputation for high-quality research is reflected in its involvement – as a partner or participant – in seven national Cooperative Research Centres, two of which are based on the UNE campus. The University also houses a large number of specialised research centres, including centres of national and international significance such as the Australian Centre for Agriculture and Law (AgLaw Centre) and the National Centre of Science, ICT and Mathematics Education for Rural and Regional Australia (SiMERR National Centre).

The university undertakes fundamental and applied research in many disciplines. Its scholars and scientists have established international reputations through their contributions in areas such as rural science, agricultural economics, educational administration, linguistics and archaeology. Through its research UNE assists in the economic, social and cultural advancement of Australia and in the advanced training of undergraduate and postgraduate students.
