Each year the Oorala Centre produces a t-shirt created from a design submitted by an Indigenous student or communty member. The annual Oorala t-shirt is then made available to staff, students and community members.
This year we have selected three works from the entries and now it is up to you to choose which artwork becomes the design for the 2026 Community T-Shirt. Voting closes Friday 11 September 2026.

One journey, many path
This artwork represents the shared journey of education, growth, and opportunity that connects people from all cultures and backgrounds. Although every individual begins from a different place and walks a unique path, we are united by one common goal—to learn, to grow, and to create a brighter future for those who follow. The four large meeting circles symbolise different cultures, communities, and life experiences. Each circle is unique in its colours and patterns, celebrating the beauty and strength found in diversity. While our stories may be different, every journey holds equal value. The flowing pathways weaving throughout the artwork represent the roads we travel through life. They remind us that education is not simply a destination, but an ongoing journey filled with learning, resilience, challenges, and achievement. Along these paths, people share knowledge, support one another, and build connections that strengthen communities. The yellow dotted pathways symbolise guidance.

Connected by Country
This artwork was inspired by the ideas and drawings of children who attend PCYC Ben Venue OOSH. It brings their different stories together into one artwork celebrating connection, This artwork represents how everything is connected through Country. The meeting place in the centre shows people coming together to share stories, learn from one another, and build strong relationships. The waterways remind us that Country connects us all, no matter where we come from. The footprints represent the journeys we take throughout our lives and the knowledge that is passed from one generation to the next. The native animals show that people, animals and Country all depend on one another and should be cared for with respect. The different colours reflect the many landscapes across Australia, from the rivers and coastline to the red earth. My artwork celebrates connection, belonging, culture and community, and reminds us that when we care for Country and each other, we all grow stronger together.
