Our speaker this year is cross-culture community educator and author Mr Richard Trudgen. Richard has been working with the Yolŋu people in Arnhem Land for over 50 years. He speaks legal, medical and economic Yolŋu Matha (language) and is the author of Why Warriors Lie Down and Die. He is the CEO of Why Warriors Pty Ltd, a community development social enterprise company that empowers Yolŋu and other First Nations people by providing access to information and building capacity and understanding between Australian Aboriginal people and the dominant culture.

Today Richard leads a bicultural, bilingual production team that is committed to giving Yolŋu people access to answers about health,
economic, legal, governance, general information, and hard English terms in their own language.
