Intensive School Parking
As of 1st May 2025, Students attending any UNE campus are not required to pay for parking.
UNE have taken this step to make our campus more accessible and welcoming to students, staff and the community by removing this significant barrier to participation. The expected benefits from this change all relate to a better campus experience:
- Encourage on campus attendance for classes, study sessions and campus services and to support participation in UNE clubs, events and extracurricular activities.
- Encourage community members to attend on campus events.
- Remove the significant burden of administration and enforcement for staff, freeing up resources to where they are more needed around campus.
- Reduce the financial burden on staff and students at a time of increasing cost of living.
Students are to continue to park in Blue Permit Bays (free of charge). Parking in other coloured permit bays, may result in the issuing of a fine.
Parking enforcement will still play a role on campus to manage compliance in Green bays, Loading Zones, Timed bays & other places on campus that's not signposted for parking.
Further information regarding Parking on campus can be obtained from the UNE Parking Policy (to be updated to reflect this "free parking" decision) or you can call Parking Administration on (02) 6773 3485.
Please note: Students must only park in either Blue Permit bays to avoid being issued with a Penalty Notice for other parking related offences.
During Intensive School periods, UNE Life Safety, Security & Information will be available to assist with parking, wayfinding, and any safety or information concerns. Staff can be identified by the UNE Life or UNE Life Safety & Security logo on their shirts.
