Further details:

AHPRA Registration (renew each year)

All students must hold provisional (or full) registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) for the entire duration of their candidature — including periods when they are not on placement. Students are legally responsible for ensuring their registration remains current and valid at all times.

Your AHPRA registration certificate or proof of application must be provided, and registration must be renewed annually (after two renewals, a new application is required).

Students cannot commence PSYC533 placement without current registration.

Important: AHPRA Application Form – Please Read

  • No enrolment confirmation letter is required.
If the AHPRA application form requests confirmation of enrolment from UNE, please disregard this request and proceed with your application.
  • UNE submits a bulk enrolment advice list directly to AHPRA once enrolments are finalised (usually mid-January). For this reason, we are unable to provide or send individual confirmation of enrolment to AHPRA, and students should not contact the School requesting this.

If your registration expires in the interim, or if Trimester 1 commences before your registration is formally confirmed, this is not an issue. AHPRA traditionally allows a grace period while enrolment information is being processed by universities and AHPRA administration is finalised.

Please ignore all requests from AHPRA asking for university-issued enrolment confirmation.

  • When applying for Provisional Registration, the UNE Master of Professional Psychology (MPP) is currently appearing under the Higher Degree pathway, when it should appear under the 5+1 pathway.
    • What to select on the form:
      • Until this issue is corrected, AHPRA has advised students to:  AHPRA has confirmed that this will not negatively affect your application, and that the pathway error will be corrected as your application is processed.
      • Select the Higher Degree pathway, and
      • Then select University of New England – Master of Professional Psychology (MPP) from the available options.

For application information, visit: AHPRA Psychology Provisional Registration.
